Corrie killer to star in Lieutenant Columbo mystery at the Belgrade Theatre

Brian Capron as Dr Flemming and John Guerrasio as Lieutenant Columbo
Lieutenant Columbo takes to the Belgrade Theatre’s Main Stage from Tues 8 to Sat 12 March in Prescription: Murder, a new stage adaptation that features the legendary detective in his first ever case. Soap star Brian Capron, who is best known for his role as serial killer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street, leads the cast in the role of Dr Flemming.

Prescription: Murder is the first case ever written involving Lieutenant Columbo and the pilot episode for the television series. It was penned by Richard Levinson and William Link, who formed one of the most notable writing and producing teams in the history of U.S. television. As well as their success with Columbo, they went on to write the hugely popular series Murder She Wrote.

"Columbo fits the stage well in Michael Lunney's top-notch mix of suspense and farce."

**** The Times

The plot of Prescription: Murder revolves around Psychiatrist Roy Flemming, whose marriage is in trouble, and who organises a long-overdue romantic weekend away with his wife. When she is found dead, Columbo is brought in to investigate and it isn't long before the seeds of doubt are planted in his mind.

"It's going to be hard to beat the new stage version of Columbo...

Michael Lunney's direction captures the thrilling day time murder mystery element"

In 2003 Brian Capron won Best Actor at the British Soap Awards for his portrayal of serial killer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street. In Prescription: Murder he stars alongside fellow Coronation Street actress Alexandra Boyd, who will play the role of his wife and Richard Walsh, who spent 12 years playing Albert ‘Sicknote’ Quigley in London’s Burning.

Tickets for Prescription: Murder are available now from the box office on 024 7655 3055 or via http://www.belgrade.co.uk/ priced from £13.50 to £26.50, with concessions available.
