Celebrating the life of Little B

Solihull Library is celebrating the life of one of the lesser known members of the Cadbury dynasty.

On Saturday 5 March at 2.30pm, the library will host the event Beatrice Cadbury – the radical Quaker.

The event will feature a talk from Fiona Joseph, a Birmingham-based author who is releasing a biography of Beatrice Cadbury later this year.

Beatrice Cadbury (1884-1976), or Little B, was the youngest daughter of the chocolate manufacturers, who reached an astonishing decision when she was in her thirties to give up all her inherited wealth and share it amongst the Cadbury workers.

As well as telling the fascinating story of Little B’s life, the event is also a joint celebration of World Book Night (5 March) and International Women’s Day (8 March).
