Cuts to Youth Services - Please Sign Our Petition

Youth Services funding across the country is being cut. This means that young people will receive little or no youth support.

St Paul's Youth Services are one of the only youth services in the Balsall Heath area and without this there will be many disadvantaged young people who rely on this support left with nothing.

Amika Barnett who attends one of the Trust’s youth clubs said “We have no other youth services in our area so it’s not like we can just go somewhere else. What are we supposed to do now?”

One hundred young people attend the youth clubs at the Trust every week and this number increases during the summer months. The fear for many in the community is that some of the young people will fall foul of a diminishing gang culture which it is now feared will begin to increase.

Amika has set up an online petition calling on the government to stop cutting Youth Services and to realise the devastating effect this will have on a generation of young people.

Please do sign her petition http://www.gopetition.com/petition/43257.html
