Dig out those Rusty Racquets and get into tennis in Solihull

Tennis fans in Solihull are being served up a real treat, with some ace new coaching courses.

Rusty Racquets will target anyone aged 16 or over looking to get into playing tennis – either as a beginner or as someone returning to the sport – while Mini Racquets is open to players aged between 8-15 years.

All of the courses will run at Malvern Park tennis courts on Monday evenings for ten weeks starting from 9 May.

Mini Racquets for 8-11 year-olds will be from 5.00pm-6.00pm, followed by the 12-15 year-olds session from 6.00pm-7.00pm.

The Rusty Racquets classes for players aged 16 and over will then run from 7.00pm-8.30pm.

The courses are being supported by Solihull Council, who will provide a Lawn Tennis Association licensed level 3 coach to lead all of the sessions.

Councillor Graham Craig, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Tennis is one of those sports that gets you fit while still being fun to play and having a good social side to it too. Whether you’re just starting out or coming back the game after a long break, why not come to Malvern Park and give this course a go?”

Rusty Racquets costs £35 for ten weeks (£3.50 per session) and Mini Racquets costs £25 (£2.50 per session). To book your place, or for more information, visit www.solihullactive.co.uk/rustyracquets.
