A taste of Italy is coming back to Stafford next month when a specialist market hits the town.

Stafford Borough Council has organised an Italian Food Market to come in to the town for a two-day stint during the first week of April.

There will be around 18 stalls selling traditional Italian food from cheeses to sweets and from pasta to bread. All the foods on sale are imported from producers in Italy.

The event takes place in the town’s Market Square between 9am and 5pm on Friday and Saturday, (1 and 2 April). The ‘square’ hosted a successful Italian market in December and is also home to the monthly farmers market.

Ted Manders, head of planning and regeneration at the borough council, said "The Italian market makes a positive impact to the town. On the previous occasions we have had the market it has brought extra shoppers in to the area so it is good to see the stall holders back again."

Anyone wanting to hire out the market square for an event or information about the farmers’ markets should contact or 01785 245935.
