Fun in the parks for all the family this Easter

Solihull’s parks are offering a host of fun activities for all the family this Easter break.

The fun kicks off on Wednesday 13 April, with a Spring Walk around Meriden Park. Join the Park Rangers for a stroll around the park and find out interesting facts about the Cole Valley and Hatchford Brook along the way.

The walk is from 1pm-3pm and anyone who wants to come along should wear sensible footwear. Meet in the car park.

Then, on Thursday 14 April, there is a chance to let your creative side out and build your own scarecrow in Knowle Park, from 10.30am-12.30pm. Call 0121 704 8000 to get the equipment list and book a place.

On Sunday 17 April at Babbs Mill LNR is an event you’d be quackers to miss - the Dizzy Duck Race! Name your duck and wish it luck as it races along the river.

The event runs from 11am-12.30pm and will include a craft activity before the race, as well as a prize for the winning duck.

On Wednesday 20 April, why not come to Dorridge Park and make a piece of art from animal tracks? The event runs from 11am-1pm and will teach you how to identify animal tracks, and you can even take a cast from their footprint for £1.

Pre-booking on 0121 704 8000 for this event is essential and anyone coming along should bring an apron as it can get messy!

In Maundy Thursday – 21 April – take an old hat and some Easter decorations to Olton Jubilee Park from 11am-1pm, add some natural decorations from the park and make your own Easter bonnet.

The Easter fun rounds off on Good Friday – 22 April – in Elmdon Park with the always egg-cellent Easter Egg Hunt. Find the Easter bunny’s hidden clues, crack the password and win a chocolate egg.

The event runs from 11am-3pm and, as well as the egg hunt, there will be a craft activity, children’s rides and refreshments on site. The hunt costs £2 per child and there will also be a small cost for the other attractions.
