Social Enterprise West Midlands seizes the ‘big’ opportunity to do business differently

The business network for social enterprise in the West Midlands is fighting back after having its funding cut by the Government and promises to offer new ‘tangible’ solutions to the much maligned ‘Big Society’.

Kevin Maton, Network Director of Social Enterprise West Midlands, made the bold prediction at his organisation’s official launch as a newly formed community interest company (SEWM CIC).

Speaking at the Q3 Academy last night, the sector expert believes there is a vital role for social enterprise to play in the proposed transformation of public services and by ‘doing what his own organisation preaches’ underlines the real opportunities that lie behind the Big Society’s marketing rhetoric.
