Students with an aptitude for the creative, digital and performing arts have one last chance to apply for the region’s specialist Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) before it opens its doors this September.

Following a number of successful workshops and aptitude tests, and with demand for places still high, BOA has taken the decision to make a limited number of additional places available for its first intake this Autumn.

Gaynor Cheshire comments: “We have been blown away by the talent and enthusiasm of students from across the region. Being part of the first intake into this ground-breaking new Academy will be very special, so we have decided to make available a limited number of additional places on certain courses to give those who missed the first application deadline another opportunity.”

The new multi-million pound BOA is an independent, state-funded 14-19 Academy located in Birmingham’s Eastside. The first year’s intake will be for 325 post-16 students.

Aspiring creative students only have until 17th June 2011 to apply. Aptitude workshops for applicants will take place at the end of June.
