Oddsocks present Macbeth

Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge

Saturday 23rd July

Following last year’s magical Midsummer Night’s Dream, Oddsocks are back at Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge on Saturday, 23rd July with Macbeth one of Shakespeare's bloodiest of plays. Outdoors on The Green is the perfect place to see the drama - as the play gets darker the night draws in…

Never fear, this will be no ordinary Macbeth, Shakespeare's darkest of dark tragedies is given the Oddsocks treatment and as Oddsocks can make a comedy out of anything, be prepared for spine tingling, eye popping, rib tickling hilarity - lots of witches and lots of laughs!

The company has 20 years experience delighting audiences with their inspired approach to Shakespeare's plays and their trademark family friendly, madcap, slapstick style. Expect this battle against good and evil to be a physically exciting spectacle based on the Bard's original text of course, complete with power hungry rulers, mad wives, sword fights, wandering stilted witches, walking trees, blood, wigs, music, dancing and lots of audience participation.

Oddsocks Director, Andy Barrow, last seen as a gloriously funny Bottom, will be in the lead with company regulars Bethan Nash (pregnant Ophelia in the winter show), Andy McGillan (a magnificently 'invisible’ Oberon in last year’s 'Dream') and Kevin Kemp (a brooding Hamlet) aiding in the mischief. Oddsocks also welcome newcomer Kathryn Levell to their motley crew as Lady Macbeth.

Join the 1,000s of Oddsocks fans who enjoy a great night out with this hilarious company who bring a feel good buzz to every classic they perform.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from Blists Hill Victorian Town entrance shop or Ironbridge Visitor Information Centre priced at £11 for adults and £8 for concessions (plus £2 p&p if posted from the Information Centre).
