Wolvestock 17 - Free Country Music Festival, sponsored by Banks’s – Sat 23rd + Sun 24th July - East Park, Wolverhampton

Wolvestock is the largest free entry country music festival in the UK .

A whole caravan village will spring up in East Park again this year in the sold-out camping area.

* In September Wolverhampton Grand Theatre will present a brand new Country Musical Comedy called Rhinestone Mondays which will star Lyn Paul (New Seekers), Faye Tozer (Steps), Ian H Watkins (Steps) and Shaun Williamson (Eastenders and Extras).

The Grand have teamed up with Wolvestock organisers to attempt the “Rhinestone Record” - the greatest number of people dancing to the same musical track simultaneously at a country music festival. The attempt will take place at Wolvestock on Sunday 24 July at 3pm which will then be submitted to the Guinness Book of Records.

Festival attendees will be asked to dance to the country music classic Achy Breaky Heart and the Steps number one track 5,6,7,8. Cast member Shaun Williamson will be there on the day to lead the line dance along with line dance professionals Rob Fowler (previous World Champion) and John “Grrowler” Rowell (national choreographer).

The entertainment begins at 11.00am and runs non-stop until 8.00pm on both days.

Arena Stage


Mac Bailey and Desperado are a West Midlands band made up of three seasoned musicians, amassing over a hundred and thirty years experience in the music business between them. They will open the festival with a sample of various types of country music, popular songs, Cajun music, a little Bluegrass , plenty of Country Rock and Rockabilly.

Jellico Road are a new band playing the current hits from Nashville Stars.

World Champion Rob Fowler will keep up the line dance pace along with the rest of ‘The Crew’.

Swing Commanders (left) are the UK 's premier western swing band 6 piece with the verve of Glen Miller playing country. Swing Commanders are consistently regarded as one of the highlights of the festival.

The mighty Swing Commanders bring Saturday to a close.


Donna Wylde returns having won Female Entertainer of the Year for the last two years at the British Country Music Awards.

Hayley Oliver Band won best newcomer at the 2010 British Country Music Awards, Hayley was born blind, she has a degree in music from London Uni and fronts this brilliant 6 piece London-based band singing a host of original songs.

Henry Smith (right) is one of the most well respected singer/songwriters in the UK, don’t miss his show, he is a one man concert on his own, so when he has his band with him, it’s a knockout – it’s Henry Smith’s Country Dreams. Henry won 2010 British Country Music Awards band of the year.

John Grrowler Rowell is one of Britain 's top dance instructors. John will be accompanying the World Champion Rob Fowler on stage.

The Diablo's from Brighton are launching their new album at Wolvestock and are widely regarded as the best country rock band in England .

Up Country Dance Stage


A host of the very best dance acts are performing their sets on the Up Country Dance Stage.


Dance Champion Rob Fowler and John Grrowler Rowell will be teaching new country dances. Donna Wylde plays the smaller stage today too.
