Great value days out for visitors to the Ironbridge Gorge Museums in 2012

People looking for a great value day out in 2012 need look no further than the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. 2012 promises to be an exciting year for the Museum and its visitors with a variety of free exhibitions and events and a great value Annual Passport Ticket to all ten of the museums.

There are four fantastic exhibitions available to everyone to visit free of charge during the course of 2012. Our Sporting Life: Sporting Heroes which celebrates Shropshire’s rich, sporting heritage will be open until 9th September as part of the Science Sport Life programme of events, part of the national ‘Stories of the World’ project, which is at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. CORE is an outstanding digital art exhibition designed by renowned international artist Kurt Hentschl├Ąger, which will premiere at the Engine Shop, Enginuity on Friday 23rd March forming a key part of the London 2012 Festival in the West Midlands.

The stunning International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition will open at the Footprint Gallery, Fusion, adjacent to the Jackfield Tile Museum on Saturday 14th July showcasing the fantastic skill of the winning and finalist photographers from the fourth competition in an exhibition of gardens, plants, flowers and botany. Following on from the Our Sporting Life: Sporting Heroes exhibition, the Coalbrookdale Gallery will host an exhibition of the remarkable paintings and drawings of Welsh artist Falcon Hildred, whose lifetime’s work focuses upon the industrial landscapes of England and Wales. This exhibition will open in October 2012.

Also new for 2012 is a great value Annual Passport Ticket to the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums offering families of up to two adults and all of their children an unlimited number of fascinating days out and repeat visits over 12 months for just £64 available from 24th March (terms and conditions apply).
