Bike North Birmingham Launch Event - Friday 25th May

Further to my previous email, places are still available for the official launch of the Bike North Birmingham project and we would very much like you to join us.

The launch will take place at The Ramada Hotel, Penns Lane, Sutton Coldfield, on Friday 25th May from 09:30 – 13:00.

Bike North Birmingham aims to transform local cycling in Erdington, Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas. Our aim is to make cycling more accessible, and to get more people cycling more of the time, giving an alternative option to car travel that is healthier, cheaper and more fun.

The event will provide an opportunity for us to inform and engage with you on the benefits of cycling and the products, services and resources available to you through the project.

We want to work directly with local businesses, communities and schools to provide not only practical advice, information and support on cycling but also provide everything cyclists need to get bike-smart and cycle confident.

After the event, lunch and networking will be available, plus as the Ramada is directly located on one of our cycle/walkway routes we will be providing an optional led bike ride/walk for all delegates to partake in to demonstrate how connected the community is – bikes can be provided.

An updated agenda for the day is attached - Dr Mark Newbold, Chief Executive of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the Bike North Birmingham Board is confirmed as keynote speaker.

If you have not already done so, please complete and return the attached reply slip to bikenorthbirmingham@birmingham.gov.uk

Please forward any queries to bikenorthbirmingham@birmingham.gov.uk or telephone 0121 303 7758.

We look forward to seeing you at the launch and to working with you on Bike North Birmingham.

With best wishes,

Richard Leonard
