Council rolled out the red carpet during a special ceremony held to recognise
the contributions of the Olympic Torchbearers that carried the Flame through
the county last week.
Those wearing their chains of office are L to R:

Herefordshire Council chairman, Cllr Olwyn Barnett thanked the Torchbearers with a special certificate and commemorative pin at the ceremony which was attended by 30 Torchbearers, their families and those that nominated them.
Cllr Barnet said: “I was delighted to be able to personally meet and thank all the Torchbearers on behalf of Herefordshire Council.
“There was no greater honour than to recognise them for the work they do in the communities in which they live”.
Cllr Barnet also invited other local dignitaries from throughout the county to thank the Torchbearers
Jackie Allen, Torchbearer from Cheltenham said: “It’s great to be invited to meet the other Torchbearers, hear their stories and be recognised as a group like this.
“I ran my leg in Ledbury, it was so well organised, and the crowds were fantastic.
“Even though I don’t live here, I’d like to thank everyone in Herefordshire for looking after all of us so well”.
