Free breakfast seminar to explain new workplace pension rules

Individuals and owners of small businesses in the Birmingham area are being invited to a free breakfast seminar to get practical, independent advice on the new NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) pension legislation.

The July 5th event is for professional people such as accountants, doctors, dentists and solicitors; and businesses with small workforces unsure of the new legislation, which is aimed at making it easy for people to start saving for their retirement.

West Midlands-based financial services group Acorns To Oaks says the new pension legislation, will be of interest to professional individuals who want to build up a nest egg; and companies where the workforce will have to be encouraged to save.

Explained Acorns To Oaks pensions manager Chris Holland:

“When this legislation comes into force in October it will be a revolution for both employers and workers. Employers will have to enroll all eligible workers into a pension scheme, while workers that don’t qualify automatically can ask to be enrolled.

There are many myths surrounding this legislation and with the help of experts, we will be explaining exactly what is happening and what it means to them and their businesses.”

The seminar is on July 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1 Brunswick Square, Brindley Place, Birmingham, B1 2HW, 7.30 am-9.30 am and includes breakfast. More details from or telephone free on 0800 068 0041. Web site:
