Stalls and demonstrations for the adults, whilst younger outdoor fans can enjoy free craft activities!
On Saturday 26th May, Solihull’s town centre will be transformed into a paradise for green-fingered enthusiasts as it hosts a seasonalGardeners’ Delight Day, in association with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
For one day only,Mell Square will be packed with an array of garden related stalls, all showcasing an impressive selection of plants, flowers, minerals, fossils along with products from local garden centres such as the town’sEarlswood Nursery.
What’s more, gardening fans will have the unique opportunity to enjoy talks and demonstrations from two top television personalities,Howard Drury and Ted Rudge.
At 12pm Birmingham-born Howard will present his hints and tips on ‘Encouraging birds to your garden’, followed by his’50 best gardening tips’ at 1:45pm. He will round off his day at 3:15pm with an address on ‘Container gardening throughout the year’.
From 1pm, Ted Rudge will also give a special hanging basket demonstration, instructing visitors on how to create the very best exterior displays.
The Gardeners’ Delight Day also promises activities for the whole family. Whilst older visitors take in the stalls and demonstrations, children will be able to enjoy the many free craft activities on offer in Mell Square from 11am until 3pm.
