Sun June 3rd: GOJO' MUSIC presents The Ronnie Lane Appreciation Society - an event in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society (http://www.mssociety.org.uk/about-us) paying tribute to musician - singer/songwriter Ronnie Lane's influence and spirit across the decades of the 60s and 70s and his struggle against MS which dominated the last 15 years of his life. This year on the 4th June it will be 15 years since Ronnie's death in 1997. The event will run across the afternoon and evening of Sunday 3rd June and will take place in the beautiful surroundings of The Grange (Somers Sports and Social Club), 2 Grange Hill, Halesowen, West Midlands, B62 OJH http://www.somersclub.co.uk/ - and it's excellent selection of CAMRA award winning ales :-) The event includes live evening sets from Gary O'Dea's COSMIC SOULS http://www.gojo-music.co.uk/ and Colin Hall's GYPSY BLOOD http://www.myspace.com/gypsyblooduk and a special screening (with the kind permission of the rights holders) of the dvd film of Ronnie's life THE PASSING SHOW.
Plus an afternoon of acoustic spots from Gary, Colin, Stuart Downes and guests including Pete Boddis (other's t.b.c) and DJs playing a mix of classics from The Small Faces / Faces and Slim Chance periods of Ronnie's life plus complimentary songs from these eras.
