Goose at Kings Heath, 70 High Street, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 7JZ
Date: Thursday 31 May 2012
Time: From 5pm
One of the most iconic buildings on the High Street in Kings Heath, the Goose Pub is getting a facelift and with it transforming the street scene in one of the most up-and-coming districts of Birmingham. The pub has temporarily closed for a 9-day, £130,000 makeover that will see its frontage and interior restored to its former glory.
The Goose will re-open this Thursday 31 May with a smart new cream and black exterior and warm and welcoming décor throughout. The team of designers for parent company Stonegate Pub Company whose job it is to carry out the makeover have sourced local artwork, installed atmospheric lighting and introduced comfortable furniture to create a real haven for customers. A fabulous new and enhanced menu with quality pub food at great value prices such as 2 meals for £5.95, completes the change. Ade Butler, the General Manager of the Goose and his team will be hosting a reception from 5-7pm on Thursday 31 May for customers new and old to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and sample some of the delicious new dishes on the menu such as Lemon & Pepper Chicken and Fisherman Plate sharing platter.
Speaking about the refurbishment, Ade Butler General Manager of Goose at Kings Heath said: “Customers are really going to be wowed by the look of the pub. A refurbishment of this historic building has been long overdue but we felt it was important to get it right by restoring it to its glory days and at the same time making it lighter, brighter and welcoming to all. It’ll be something of a transformation and regulars and Kings Heath residents are going to see a big difference. We can’t wait to get their reaction. We’d like to welcome local businesses, customers and residents to join us on 31st to see for themselves the changes and to help us celebrate.
“With the new look also comes a greater emphasis on food. The kitchen and front of house team and I have been spending our time wisely whilst the builders are busy to refresh training so that everything from the service to the quality of the dishes are absolutely perfect.
“Also as a special treat during our opening weekend and back by popular demand we have a Blue Brothers tribute band performing some of the duo’s classics on Saturday 2 June from 9pm”, he added.
