Award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and performer, Marti Pellow, will be joining the cast of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds: The New Generation - Alive on Stage! at Birmingham’s NIA on 7 December.

Marti first came to the attention of the British public as the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet, he now hits the stage alongside a new and exciting cast playing The Voice of Humanity.

Marti says:

“I am so looking forward to working on Jeff Wayne's classic, The War of The Worlds. I think Jeff's idea of the New Generation is wonderful, it says to me The War of The Worlds is still about that original amazing piece - but it's also about turning new people on to Jeff's vision, it delivers so much more to the original fans and will massively inspire new ones.

As a songwriter I get it big time - but as a punter too, watching this show, it will simply blow you away! Jeff's team have put together a production that is second to none - embracing today's technology but never losing sight of the star of the show and the songs - that's why it was a big "yes" from me.”

Jason Donovan has been announced to play Parson Nathaniel, and Kerry Ellis plays his wife, Beth. Also confirmed is Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson in the role of The Artilleryman.

Hollywood star Liam Neeson will appear in the new production, for the first time, in the holographic role of The Journalist, taking over from Richard Burton’s iconic narration on the original album, and previous tours.  The groundbreaking, full body, live action hologram is an extraordinary performance from Liam, who interacts with the live performers, including passing objects between hologram and reality!

In addition to being in one of the most successful and highly acclaimed chart topping bands in British pop history, Marti has also taken to the stage around the world from West End to Broadway and in touring productions of Chicago, The Witches of Eastwick, Jekyll & Hyde and starred as The Narrator in Blood Brothers.

Marti has also starred in TV shows such as Chess in Concert and The Abbey. A man of diverse talent who always excels in whatever he turns his hand to. He is thrilled to be a part of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds – Alive on Stage! The New Generation.

Tickets for the show are available now, priced at £42.50 &£62.50 (subject to booking and transaction fees) and are available from The Ticket Factory: or 0844 338 8000.
