An Exhibition entitled ‘Our Sporting Heroes’ features a selection of medals and photographs relating to local sporting heroes through the ages. This exhibition offers an historic voyage through Stafford’s sporting past. On display will be the Olympic Torch carried by Duncan Carey, along with a unique collection of medals belonging to former Stafford Rangers and Everton goalkeeper, Jim Arnold.
It looks at the diverse range of sports associated with the town from jousting in the middle ages through to football and motor sports in the modern era.
There will be a selection of medallions won by members of the Stafford Volunteer Fire Brigade in regional drill competitions, along with boxing medals awarded to airmen who would later fight with great distinction during the Battle of Britain.’
