Wednesday 18th July
The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are celebrating the very best in locally produced crafts with the launch of a new retail range called ‘Sourced from Shropshire’. Shoppers are invited to an exclusive showcase evening at Coalport China Museum on Wednesday, 18th July which will be the perfect chance to browse the product range as well as meet some of the craftsmen and women who design for the collection.
‘Sourced from Shropshire’ encompasses the Museum’s flagship ‘Made in The Gorge’ and ‘From our Collections’ ranges which include exquisite handmade ceramic and glassware as well as beautiful jewellery and stationery inspired by the Museum’s extensive historic collections.
During the evening guests will also be able to wander around the Museum’s magnificent collections of Coalport and Caughley china; watch the skilled china flower makers at work and even have a go at making a china rose. A highlight of the event will be a Raku pottery demonstration. This ancient Japanese craft is traditionally used to make tea bowls for Japanese tea ceremonies.
Whilst browsing the stunning retail collections guests will also be able to enjoy a taste of Shropshire courtesy of ‘Mike’s Homemade’ and ‘Hobson's Brewery’.
This exclusive event will be at Coalport China Museum on Wednesday 18 July between 5.30pm and 8pm. For an invite for you and a friend contact Shirley Bill on 01952 435 900 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
