Solihull residents are in for a treat this July when the Birmingham International Jazz and Blues festival comes to Touchwood, bringing with it the dulcet tones of some of the UK’s most talented jazz musicians.
From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 July guests will be treated to a series of free live performances from a host of the music industry’s most popular jazz and blues artists.
With a mix of new and returning musicians lined up to entertain, guests at the centre will be tapping their toes along to the beat in no time.  Kicking off the weekend will be the UK’s top gypsy guitarists, the Remi Harris Trio, followed by the distinctive voice of USA born jazz singer, Bobby Woods. The final day will see the Hot Club style trio, Strumpit, performing their twist on gypsy jazz and folk music.
Lucy Burnett, marketing manager for Touchwood, comments: “We look forward to the Birmingham International Jazz and Blues Festival every year, as it creates a fantastic atmosphere in the centre. The festival is a great chance for Solihull music lovers to enjoy some free entertainment, so whether you’re a jazz and blues enthusiast or have never listened to this genre before I would encourage you to come along and enjoy the shows.”
The acts will be playing as follows:
Friday 25 July – Remi Harris Trio @ 12:30
Saturday 26 July – Bobby Woods @ 14:30
Sunday 27 July – Strumpit @ 13:00
