Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has been announced as one of the acts at this year’s Free Radio Live, which is taking place at the LG Arena on November 29.
The 23-year-old, who is about to embark on the sell-out Birmingham leg of his current tour, is expected to perform songs from his latest album “x” including Sing, Don’t, and new single Thinking Out Loud as well as previous hits such as The A Team.
The announcement was made just after 8am this morning (October 17) on the Breakfast Show on Free Radio in the West Midlands. On Monday, Free Radio confirmed the first act for the bill – former X-Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger.
This the fifth year of the annual pop concert – which promises to be the biggest yet – and previous acts include Olly Murs, Little Mix, The Vamps and Union J.
Sheeran is the biggest selling artist in the UK this year, thanks to his current album “x”, which was number one for eight weeks this summer in the UK album chart – and to date, has sold more 634,000 copies.
Tickets are still available for Free Radio Live 2014 and can be purchased from www.freeradio.co.uk and www.theticketfactory.com.
A tribute will also be paid to Staffordshire teenager Stephen Sutton at the event, and a substantial donation from ticket sales will be made to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
