Steps Star and actress Faye Tozer will return to the stage in the uproariously funny new comedy, 69 SHADES OF BLACK which will play at the Solihull Arts Complex on Saturday 13 June 2015, as part of a major nationwide tour.
Sassy and saucy with a whip-crackingly riotous script, 69 SHADES OF BLACK is the perfect feel-good girl’s night out.
Boring and vanilla; William Shight’s most interesting trait has always been his snigger inducing name. Up until now that is!
Since landing his dream job at one of the country’s top advertising agencies, things have taken a turn for the shocking.
‘Christina Black’, the company director, has taken a shine to ‘William’ and attempts to seduce him with an indecent proposal. Overwhelmed by the attention and without friends or family to turn to, he decides seek the advice of the only two men in his life he can trust, the hilariously argumentative Gabriel and Gideon...his conscience.
William tries in vain to resist but in the end relents and signs a 69 page contract, the one Christina intends to use to make a man out of him....
The 20 pages of “don’t” and 49 pages of “do whatever the hell I want” will lead William on the hilariously painful journey of a lifetime.

FAYE TOZER Q&A
Faye can’t wait to get on the road so we asked her a little about the show:
Q: You’re performing as ‘Christina Black’, in the comedy stage show 69 Shades of Black. How did this come about and tell us a bit about ‘Christina’?
Faye: I enjoy playing comedy roles and I thought this would be a really fun show to do, and something totally different from my more recent theatre jobs. Christina is a successful business woman, the head of an advertising agency, who has taken a shine to her new employee – the hopelessly boring William. She has a hard-nosed exterior and likes to be in control – but no complicated dark layers like ‘Christian Grey’. Our show is very light hearted!
Q: Did you read the 50 Shades books? And are you planning on seeing the movie when it comes out?
Faye: The girls were reading the books (sometimes out loud for a laugh!) during the Ultimate Steps tour between venues, so yes - I am hoping to go and see the movie with my girlfriends when it comes out!
Are you excited to be touring the country? Are there any towns which you are revisiting – and any which you’ll be coming to for the first time?
Faye: I am excited to get back on the road after a short but well earned break! I have played most of the theatres on this tour - I've been around the theatre circuit for over ten years now and I love it. There are a few Scottish venues that will be new to me but it's always nice to visit somewhere new!
Q: What do you like to do to keep busy when you are travelling for work?
Faye: When I'm travelling on tour I love to catch up with film & TV series I wouldn't get to see as we work in the evenings. I also take the opportunity to write and be inspired by my surroundings and the people and events you encounter on the road. It can be quite colourful!
